Why Have Well Woman Care Visits With A Midwife?

Midwifery is based on the belief that women know what is best for their bodies, and with education and support can make the best care decisions for themselves. We offer Well Woman Care for women of all ages, from menarche to menopause, with a focus on the woman as an individual rather than a patient. Our visits are longer than you would have at an OBGYN – we take time to discuss your health history, explain each part of your exam, and proceed at the speed you are comfortable with. We leave ample time during our visit to discuss any concerns you have and to help educate you about how your body works.

Many women avoid, or skip all together, their annual exams because of poor past experiences. You deserve to make your own decisions about your health, and to have your exam in a safe and respectful environment. Have your annual visit with a midwife this year, and learn how different woman-centered care is.

Our Well Woman Care Visits Include:

• In depth health history
• Breast Exam and information about breast care
• Thin prep Pap test
• Internal exam
• Time for education and counseling
• Complete STI lab screening via blood tests or culture are also available

*** Depending on your insurance plan you may or may not be able to get reimbursed for the cost of this visit. Labwork (Pap test and STI screening) and cervical caps are an additional fee which may or may not be covered if you have health insurance. All tests and their costs will be discussed before they are performed. You always have the final word in your healthcare.
